Having your septic system pumped out regularly will keep it running properly. Having it cleaned stops the sediment from building up in the septic tank and building a sewage backup in your residence or triggering the meltdown of the entire septic system. It may be a bit pricey to pump a septic tank, but it will be very costly to clean up an emergency sewage problem.
Use strainers in every drains to catch hair and other things. This will stop all the material from going down the drainpipe and resulting in a blockage, which can create a much larger problem down the line. Clean out the strainers regularly so that you don't start getting backup of water in your sink or tub.
If your water is turning up black, then probably you have an iron and magnesium problem to your water. You will need to speak to a water softener company, and get them to come out and assess your water. They will can deal with the issue by adding a water softener.
